I grew up in Santa Ana, California and graduated from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. I went on to obtain a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California with a focus on children and family therapy.
In 2010, I began a clinical work utilizing therapy with children and families in Compton, California through the Guidance Center's non-profit clinic. I obtained my clinical license (LCSW#66172) in April, 2015.
I'm currently working full time at the Orange County Social Services Agency in Orange, California, serving families in the dependency courts.
I have been blessed with a beautiful wife of ten years and three beautiful children. My wife and I serve in the children's ministry at Newport Coast Lighthouse Church (Non-denominational Christian Church).
Specifically I am trained in: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Motivational interviewing. Training for EMDR will start in September 2018.
•My work is heavily influenced by the relationships and attachments between individuals in which the Lord has designed as a human purpose. I see relationships to be central to how we understand our world, gain meaning and provide purpose. Positive and honest relationships, including the therapy relationship, allow for healing and growth. Therefore, I'm not a remote observer in the room. Instead, I am an active and accessible person with the people I work with and strive to be as honest as possible.
